Garth Richardson has represented both prosecution and defence in cases of murder, serious sexual assaults, conspiracies to supply class A drugs, and cases involving severe mental illness. Also specialises in Confiscation proceedings subsequent to Class A drugs trials and Money Laundering cases.

 

He has also appeared for the defence in Courts Martial, in the U.K. and in Germany.

 

He was the first Barrister on the Western Circuit to be assigned by the Crown Court to act as Cross-Examiner for a defendant acting in person in a sexual offence case.

 

Notable Cases

Lead prosecutor in R -v- Keet and Others, a case which resulted from the celebrated Hampshire Constabulary's investigation into horse stealing in the Home Counties.

 

Defence Junior in R -v- Sargent, a lengthy trial of a severely mentally ill defendant charged with murder.

 

Defence Counsel in Regina -v- Tourh - a Confiscation case in which the benefit figure exceeded £5 million.

 

Advisor to the M.O.D in the Health and Safety prosecution resulting from an explosion during testing of experimental weaponry at R.M.B Poole.
